At the recently concluded conference of the Philippine Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (PASAP) held at the Marriott Hotel in the Philippines, Kevin Martin dela Cruz, Chief Sustainability Officer of FarmConnect, delivered a powerful message on the urgent need for administrative professionals to embrace sustainability in their practices.

Kevin emphasized that sustainability is no longer an optional consideration but a fundamental imperative for businesses and organizations across all sectors. As the backbone of operations, administrative professionals play a crucial role in driving sustainable practices within their workplaces.

“Sustainability is not just about environmental conservation; it’s about creating a future where economic growth, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship coexist harmoniously,” stated dela Cruz. “Administrative professionals are uniquely positioned to champion this cause by integrating sustainable practices into their daily operations.”

Kevin highlighted the Climate Technology: Fog Catcher Innovation HR Program as a pioneering initiative that PASAP members can adopt to kickstart their sustainability journey. This innovative program harnesses the power of fog catchers, a technology that captures water from fog, providing a sustainable source of water for communities in arid regions.

“By participating in the Fog Catcher Innovation HR Program, administrative professionals can contribute to a significant environmental cause while fostering team building and enhancing their organization’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) narratives,” dela Cruz explained.

The program offers a multitude of benefits, including:

1. Addressing HR Challenges: It provides a cost-effective solution for short and long-term HR objectives, standardized CSR metrics, and reporting, while enhancing corporate branding and reputation equity.

2. Team Building with Impact: Engaging in the program not only strengthens team bonds but also contributes to a meaningful environmental cause.

3. Enhancing CSR and ESG Narratives: Organizations can leverage verifiable decarbonization data from the project to enrich their CSR initiatives and ESG reporting, showcasing their commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

4. Supporting Local Agriculture: The program helps build sustainable and climate-resilient farming communities, ensuring food security and economic stability.

5. Participating in Decarbonization Efforts: By contributing to the fog catcher project, organizations can actively participate in decarbonization efforts along the agri-food value chain.

Kevin’s compelling presentation resonated deeply with the PASAP community, igniting a sense of urgency and responsibility to integrate sustainability into their professional practices. By embracing initiatives like the Fog Catcher Innovation HR Program, administrative professionals can leave a lasting legacy through direct solution development and community engagement, while producing quantitative and qualitative data for their organization’s ESG reporting.

As the nation’s premier community platform for administrative professionals, PASAP’s commitment to sustainability sends a powerful message to the business world. By leading by example, PASAP is paving the way for a future where sustainability is woven into the fabric of every organization, fostering a harmonious coexistence between economic growth, social responsibility, and environmental preservation.
